Liverpool Bereavement Service is a charitable company limited by guarantee devoted to providing the only exclusive bereavement service for the people of Liverpool.

The organisation was founded in May, 1998 and is currently funded by Central Liverpool Primary Care Trust. The organisation has one paid member of staff and currently has 50 volunteers including a Board  of 7 members.

At the heart of this organisation is a core of dedicated volunteers, from a wide range of backgrounds, who are committed to maintaining the service. Liverpool Bereavement Service offers one to one counselling free of charge.
The organisation has specially trained and CRB checked volunteers who are able to work with children.
 
The organisation offers training courses on "Loss & Bereavement" which can be tailored to suit individual needs. The course is also available to people who are training to be counsellors.
